DescOPERĂ – a unique open-air music festival.

Open-air classical music festival DescOPERĂ returns with its third edition. This event will bring the joy of world-class Opera in the middle of the Nature,led by Austrian conductor Friederich Pfeiffer. 

The Festival includes 3 eventful evenings:

Day 1- 15th of June, from 07 p.m.


Carl Orff – #CarminaBurana in Butuceni!
The most famous artwork of German composer Carl Orff, namely – his monumental scenic cantata “Carmina Burana.” Performed by soloists: Master of Arts Tatiana Costiuc (soprano), Sorin Lupu (tenor, from Romania), Andrei Otean (baritone), Academic Choral Chapel “Doina,” guided by the Artistic Director and Chief Conductor Ilona Stepan, an Honored Artist of the Republic of Moldova, and National Philharmonic Symphonic Orchestra, conductor Friedrich Pfeiffer (Austria) .

Day 2- 16th of June, from 07 p.m.

“Nabucco” by Giuseppe Verdi, opera in 4 acts
Director: Andrea Battistini (Italy)
Scenography: Yurie Matei, National Artist of the Republic of Moldova.
Music conductor: Friedrich Pfeiffer (Austria).
Choir conductor: Oleg Konstantinov, Master of Arts
The soloists, the choir and the ballet will represent the National Opera and Ballet Theater “Maria Bieshu”

Day 3- 17th of June, from 07 p.m.


“Pe valurile Răutului…”
The evening dedicated to the King of Waltz – Johann Strauss.
The soloists – Master of Arts Tatiana Costiuc (soprano), Vitalie Cibotaru (baritone) and the Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic of the Republic of Moldova under the baton of the unrivaled Friedrich Pfeiffer.

The event is a part of the “Be our guest” campaign promoting Moldova as an appealing touristic destination. It is organized under the auspices of the national touristic brand “Tree of life” and the national brand “Wine of Moldova.”

Guests of the festival will stroll through the cultural and natural reservation “Old Orhei,” enjoying breathtaking views, visiting the cliff monastery – an Orthodox complex in the caves, packed with a museum and indigenous monks’ households, which have preserved the breath of the past.

Moreover, the visitors will have a chance to join the special cooking master-classes, organized by the festival hosts, to learn the hearty and welcoming recipes from famous Moldovan chefs.

It will be organized transportation for this event from the National Opera and Ballet Theatre “Maria Bieșu” in Chişinău, at 3:30pm and 4 pm and will cost 35 lei.
